What Is a Fraud Waiver?

A Fraud or Misrepresentation Waiver (Form I-601) allows certain individuals who are otherwise inadmissible due to fraud to still obtain a visa, green card, or other immigration benefit, but only if they meet strict eligibility standards.

The waiver can be granted if you can prove extreme hardship to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse or parent.

FAQs

You can very well explain your I-601 waiver to your friend by telling them about the request for pardon when a person has been considered as being not admissible due to a broken law.
Granting a waiver would in the first place be a demonstration on the part of the individual that their qualifying relative is a U.S. citizen who would experience extreme hardship if the waiver is not granted.
This term “extreme hardship” is used to describe situations when an individual's financial, medical, emotional and/or environmental conditions are so severe that they literally can hardly cope, if at all.
The times are totally dependent on the respective backlogs of different immigration service centers.
If an applicant does not offer enough evidence in support of the application, it is highly probable that the waiver will be denied.
Generally, lawyers who handle fraud waiver cases are quite proficient, plus sometimes well-known lawyers get involved in such cases as well.
